Beginners Yoga Course
Learn the basics of yoga
Have you ever felt lost or confused in a yoga class?
Are the poses, concepts and structure of the class a little complicated or confusing?
This course is for those of you who want to understand the basics of yoga. Whether you are brand-new to the practice or someone who has been to some classes, this foundation course can help you to practice both comfortably and safely, online or in person.
In this online course, you will be shown how to hold and find options for the basic postures you will encounter in a classical hatha yoga class. During a standard yoga class, a teacher doesn't have much time to break down and describe the benefits, options/variations for each pose that is practiced. In this course, you will be introduced to each posture and sequence with care and at a slow pace, so that you can learn how to "do yoga" safely and with confidence.
Some of what we will cover is:
Sun Salutation – classical warm up
Basics of breathwork
Foundational yoga postures
Basic philosophy of mindfulness, awareness-building, nourishment and more.
This foundational class is a wonderful way to start or invigour a yoga practice for peace of mind and contentment.
